About Screen Reader Space

Hi, I’m Adrian Tamasan – a blind assistive technology trainer with over 25 years of experience using screen readers. Technology has played a huge role in my life, and for many years I’ve been helping others in the blind and visually impaired community build confidence with the tools that make independence possible.

Screen Reader Space started as the Accessible Computer Podcast. What began as a way to share tips and support has now grown into a dedicated space for everything related to screen readers and access technology. The new name reflects this focus and the vision to build a resource hub where anyone can learn, share, and stay up to date.

Why Screen Reader Space?

Screen readers like JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver (for Mac and iPhone), and TalkBack (for Android) are powerful tools that open up the digital world. But they can also feel overwhelming when you’re just starting out. That’s where this podcast comes in – breaking down features, sharing tutorials, and helping you get the most from your technology.

How I Can Help

Alongside the podcast, I run Access Tech VIP, where I provide:

  • One-to-one training – available in person (Portsmouth, UK and beyond) or via Zoom, in half-day or full-day sessions.
  • Self-paced learning – through the ScreenReader.training e-learning platform, covering screen readers and popular apps.
  • Courses for professionals – tailored training and awareness sessions for employers, support workers, and educators working with visually impaired people.

My Mission

The heart of Screen Reader Space is simple: to make technology more accessible, inclusive, and empowering for everyone. Whether you’re a new screen reader user, a long-time expert, or someone supporting a friend, colleague, or student, you’ll find guidance, resources, and encouragement here.

Let’s explore the space of screen readers together – and make technology work for all of us.
